This is the cat character Daphne with hearts design. Made out of fabric and with a hanging loop to use as a decoration. Handmade by the artist Charles Mazurek. Suitable as a decoration, not a toy for children or pets.
Daphne is a shopkeeper. An avid collector and deal-maker, Daphne sells antiques at her shop on Main Street. Finding unique items takes her all over the world, and she visits historic houses wherever she travels.
Arts and Crafts style architecture, like the ca. 1910 PVH Weem's House on Southgate Avenue in the Murray Hill neighborhood that she lives in, are her favorite. She is fond of the extensive oak woodwork, sleeping porch and rooms overlooking Spa Creek. Weekends are spent in her sunroom library reading books on art and interior design, or taking frequent summer trips to the Atlantic beaches.
